How Foxtrotteurs optimized its website to improve user experience and SEO performance
The Foxtrotteurs website required a series of modifications to improve navigation, user experience, and online visibility. The main objectives were to ensure proper cookie management, improve design, and strengthen the integration of analytics and tracking tools.

Cookie management and security
To meet RGPD obligations and ensure the smooth operation of analytics and advertising scripts, we have integrated a cookie manager via Finsweet. In parallel, integrations with Google Tag Manager and CloudFlare have been implemented to strengthen security and script management, enabling more precise analysis of user behavior.
Optimized design and technical performance
The site's design has been rethought to increase user engagement and make navigation between pages more fluid. We also worked on reducing the weight of images by converting them to .webp format, which accelerated loading times. In addition, the privacy policy has been updated to reflect these new features and ensure regulatory compliance.
SEO and site structure
SEO optimization was a key priority. We added rich snippets to improve Foxtrotteurs' visibility in search engine results. Canonical links were integrated to avoid duplicate content, and H1 tag hierarchies were reviewed on all pages to ensure a logical and optimized structure. We have also resolved the problems of unindexed pages reported on Google Search Console.
Enhanced user experience
To make the user experience more pleasant and interactive, we deployed clear CTAs to encourage newsletter sign-ups. Like buttons have been added to article pages, with automation managed via Make. In addition, we integrated social sharing buttons at the end of articles to facilitate content sharing on social networks. The menu and navigation bar have been redesigned to simplify site exploration, and we've created a CMS 'Continent' section, offering pages by continent with a search bar and filtering options by country. Finally, we ensured that old URLs were redirected to the new ones, preserving existing SEO.
Interaction analysis and tracking
For precise tracking of user engagement, we set up triggers on Google Tag Manager. This enabled us to track key interactions such as clicks on social network buttons, for example, while respecting users' cookie preferences. All these optimizations were supported by a responsive design, guaranteeing fluid navigation on all devices, from smartphones to large screens.

Thanks to these improvements, Foxtrotteurs has seen a marked increase in organic traffic and user engagement. The number of new users climbed by 65% between June and August 2024, with a notable spike in monthly visitors thanks to combined SEO and design efforts. Key pages saw a steady increase in clicks, as shown by Search Console results, with better overall performance and search engine positioning.
